I have had a long chat with a guy down in Brighton called Anton.
He is in contact with Brighton Council and seems to be quite well advanced in seeking permision to install a course down on the South Coast. Stanmore Park looks favorite.

This is just a small heads up to let everyone know that hes got plans in motion and for those in the area to maybe hook up with him (Ali, I have pm'd you his details as I reckon you guys should talk)

Anton is a friend of Bill Ferguson up in Shrewsbury and seems very keen to get at least one course installed.

The guys in Eastbourne should prick their ears up as well as you're so close by.

We, at Croydon, wish Anton the best of luck and eagerley await the chance of playing disc golf Brighton style.

I tried to contact someone from Brighton before who was trying to set one up there but they never got back to me. Wonder if it's the same person?

haha! Found the thread!!!

For the guy who was contacted before but was never contacted again...It wasn't me - I have only just started on this venture.

I am hoping that Brighton council won't put up too much resistance - but I may need your help in answering some of their questions... I will let you know as and when...

Many thanks to all in advance

Anton

Thought I'd give everyone who's interested a 'heads up'.

I have received a call from Brighton Council Parks department today. I spoke to a gentleman called Graham Rolf. He has told me that he is happy for Brighton to get its first Disc Golf course. It does depend though, on the go-ahead of another gentleman called Hugo Blomfield and he is the final hurdle to jump. Hugo is responsible for making sure that the things that happen in the parks do not have too much impact.

I am hoping that he will be fairly open to letting a course happen in Brighton as Disc Golf doesn't really have very much impact at all, and it also seems that 'Disc Golf' is the buzz word around the Council parks offices at the moment!!!

It all seems really positive and I feel that I can finally see the finish line.

Hopefully once permission has been granted, it is then the next stage to raise the money to fund it...

I will keep you updated as and when!

Anton
