Just a precursor question or to with regard to this years Cyclone.

As many of you will be aware, we have been eagerly awaiting completion of the new clubhouse. Unfortunately we have been informed that said clubhouse will NOT be ready to use at the Cyclone. The contarctors will do the handover to the council at the end of August and it look 95% certain that we will not get in in time for the tournament. This is obviously greatly disappointing, but will will continue with the Cyclone as scheduled.

On the bright side, one of our members at the club is the chairman of the local Scouts and has offered us floor space at the scout hall which is about 10 minute walk from the course. This means that we will be able to offer very cheap accomadation that comes with a kitchen, loos and a potential bar-b-q site for Saturday evening.

QUESTION:
How many of you out there would be interested in using the floor space at a cost of £5 per night for Friday and Saturday nights?

If we have enough interest we will get confirmation soon.

The thread for the Cyclone on the BDGA is now up, running and getting up some steam:

Its probably better to keep most of the traffic on the BDGA Forum as more people are signed up. I will monitor both.

Its the first weekend after I start work. Hope I can make it, but you have to promise it wont rain. Went to QP today and shot a 59 in the sun compared to my 70+ in the rain. That'd be a rating of at least 910!

Let's hope I keep it up and win at Whitcombe so I feel confident moving up for the Cyclone.

You need to move up soon... to go along with Moon Man!

I promise that the Cyclones weather will be better than the QP Open

You gonna use the scout hut facilities... it would be good to have a trusted man on the ground!

Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me enormous pleasure to announce the news that we all have been waiting for.

I have had an email today that has confirmed the World Champions AVERY JENKINS, VALARIE JENKINS and NATE DOSS will all be attending this years Cyclone.

Avery won this years Worlds in a thrilling finish, 64 under par after 8 rounds and went to the 5th hole of sudden death to take the win. see here for more http://www.pdga.com/worlds-wrap-up
Averys sister Valarie is now the 3 time Ladies World Champ after winning this years event by a country mile.
Nate Doss is a 2 time World Champ from 2005 and 2007.

(You might want to play the new course and try to set the course record... it may be a while before you get the chance after the Cyclone!!!)

They have all very kindly offered to do some instructional sessions and offered their services to help with club promotion.

this is fantastic news for the club and for British DG as a whole.

So, here is your opportunity to pit your game against 3 of the worlds best players (Can't play in a tournament with Tiger Woods can you!) It is expected that this news will help us fill the Cyclones 72 player max... Get your names down to play NOW so you wont be disappointed.

I have had a couple of queries regarding the 15th August deadline for payment. As the weekend is upon us I have decided to put the date for the cheap registration back a couple of days.

So, If you can please have your tournament fees into the bank account shown on the Cyclone Invite by 2100 on Tuesday August 18th.

After this time I will amend the Fees owed collumn on the Google Docs Form.

Cheers

Richard

We are just 10 days away from this years Cyclone and it has become necessary to make one or two small amendments to the running order for the Saturday.

Due to the fact that we have a 10 minute walk from the Tourney HQ to the park it has been decided that we will hold the Players Meeting earlier than previously advertised.

So, the new schedule for Saturday morning will now be:

08.30 Registration closes
09.00-09.30 Players Meeting
10.30 First round followed by lunch

This will enable you all to do the Players Meeting, then take the stroll up to the course where you will have plenty of time to do a full warm up.

It is hoped that we will hold a Clinic with our visiting Champions after the 2nd round on Saturday. This is yet to be confirmed but it does seem to be the logical time to hold the clinic. It gives everyone the opportunity to get involved. This will be confirmed asap.

Cheers

Richard

Rich,

At the end of rounds, especially the end of the 2nd round will we need to return score cards to the HQ or will we able to do it next to the course?

Thanks
