Things I've mentioned to Rich already:
- Replacing the missing chain on #6
- Putting a high flag on the basket of #13 to help with picking it out from this side of the hill
Things I haven't:
Mando markers
I make it 5 in total
- One on #12
- Three on #14
- One on #17
- I think it's ok, but need to confirm on the ground, that one is not needed on #11 to stop anyone trying to go hyzer up the 10th fairway.
OB ropes/tape
#1 A line starting on the play park fence, going across the tee to the right corner, going down the fairway to the right of the bush, behind the basket and back to the play park fence
#5 The hedge-line (inc the hedge beyond the gap at the footpath too)
#7 The line down the right side of the fairway
#11 If the fence-line within the hedge is continuous then a rope/tape won't be needed
#12 As #11
#15 Line needed from play-park fence by tee of #1 all the way across to behind the tee of #17
#16 As 11, but it wouldn't hurt to tape up the fence specifically around the tree on the right than many drives hit and drop under
#17 As 11
Strimming
All tees, greens and baskets - strimming of any long grass left after the main cut, in particular tees so a 1m x 4m teebox can be painted
Rough - Strimming of anything left after the main cut, plus attending to areas the main cut won't touch such as:
#1 Nettles around the bush
#2 Some of the crap on the ground behind the basket that would make overshoots hard to find
#3 Nothing
#4 Some routes into the crap behind the basket for overthrown drives
#5 A clear gap down the hedge line if req. so the OB rope/tape is visible
#6 Low branches on the oak removed giving some semblance of a route to the basket from some angle
#7 Nettles and crap by the basket and down the right side of the fairway
#8 Loads of nettles on the ground and low branches now making many good drives un-puttable
#9 Some routes into the crap on the right
#10 Nothing
#11 Crap around the bottom of the two individual hawthorns thickets to help disc spotting and retrieval
#12 Nothing, if the green is properly cleared by the cut. Players take their chances with the stuff on the left
#13 Crap around the bottom of the four main trees in the fairway to help disc spotting and retrieval
#14 Crap around the bottom of the three mandos to help disc spotting and retrieval, plenty to thin out at the basket on the ground and low hanging branches
#15 Nettles around the big tree on the right, routes into the crap on the left
#16 Nettles around the tee, anything that isn't a tree around the green
#17 Crap around the bottom of the big tree on the left to help disc spotting and retrieval
#18 Nothing
This is an ambitious strimming plan I know, some things are higher priority than others, but I'd be keen to come down and help do some between now and the event.
That's everything I can think of for now.
