these are my indication of who has paid what subs... Blue have paid, the rest of us are dragging our heels!

Um...don't think 5.d.p makes much difference: the unfair part is that the handicaps are rounded to whole numbers when the scores aren't. Can you add 2.d.p to the handicap column?

(sorry to bang on about this - it'll be a simple tweak and will make sense when it's done!)

Ah...I get you now, Tom. After 3 rounds my handicap is -4.33 ((57+49+52/3)-57). As this is being rounded down to -4 I'm effectively getting away with a third of a shot for free.

For someone whos handicap is 4.33, they will get rounded down to 4 and lose that .33 of advantage.

People could be losing or gaining up to (nearly) half a shot - which doesn't sound like much, but is quite important if the rounds are being averaged to the nearest 1/100th of a shot (or, with 5.d.p, to the nearest 1/100000th of a shot!).

I can actually see the reasoning.... but I still have no idea how to change the handicap formula to get it to calculate to 2dp!!!

There is something wrong with your spreadsheet because I have never shot anywhere near 57 so I can't have averaged 57 either!

Sorry, just worked it out. there is not something wrong with the spreadsheet, just confusing column titles!
