After talking with Rich about this on more than one occasion, I am interested to hear if there is an appetite amongst players for a coaching session this Sunday?

It would start at 10:00 and run for 1 hour up to the 11:00 usual Sunday morning round. I'd tailor the content depending on the people attending, but as a sample this could include:

- Getting more distance on drives
- Improving accuracy on approching
- Technique advice to improve putting
- And for a bit of fun, some get-out-of-jail stroke saving trick shots e.g. thumbers, hammers, forehand rollers, air bounces

So, who's interested? Over to you guys.

I'd be really interested in this, after a miserable run of form, but unfortunately not around this Sunday. If you repeat the effort I'll hope to be there!

Looking at the weather for the weekend, Sunday isn't that great after all but Saturday is.

Therefore, I'm going to come down on Saturday instead of Sunday, so the coaching would be 11am-12noon.

Please reply if you are interested in attending, and if you are what you'd like to get out of it.

Jester, Ozzy Dan is having his stag day on Saturday, starting at 9ish at the course. I and a few others will be in that and then able to do the afternoon as well, certainly me and Phil.

I will put out an email to all members... Do you have time restrictions on Saturday?

I don't think I can make it. This could change so I might pitch up unexpectedly but not likely. I would jump at the chance and bite your arm off if you ever do it again!

Excellent. Presumably only if Charlie restricts himself to just biting your left arm off, though.

I'm DJing in London on Saturday so I'll come down to Croydon first. May not make 9:00 tee off, but will certainly be there for coaching.

Big thank you to all the guys who attended my coaching session on Saturday. Great enthusiasm and desire to learn which is brilliant.

I hope you all got something out of it? I am really keen to here what you thought of the format. What worked well and what could be improved next time?

For those who weren't there, it started with driving technique analysis with the newer players focusing on things like correct footwork and disc angle for maximum flight.

Then for everyone it was putting; how to refine technique and build confidence at short range, then how to take that out to longer distances to increase the chances of landing a biggie.

I thought the day went very well, even taking the weather into consideration!

The coaching seemed to give everyone something, and after playing a round with Sam (a relative newbie yesterday, he was mightily impressed with what he had learned.

There is a want for more...

An illustration of the 'putting aiming points' coaching I was doing a few weeks ago is now on this thread on the BDGA forum: www.bdga.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=12046#12046
