I was just thinking about how dreadful I am at finishing a hole and how useful it would be to practice this skill. Seeing that big open space in the "back field" (between the fairways of holes 5, 6 and made me wonder if there might be scope to pop an extra basket in for practice putting? I'd be happy to contribute of course.

Now, I obviously don't know what strings had to be pulled etc. to enable the course to be installed in the first place so it might be a complete impossibility, but I just thought it might be a nice idea to have one "spare" basket in place permanently, particularly with that area now the 5th is over by the hedge, if we would be able to. Perhaps rather than having it in the middle of the field it could be "out of the way" up towards the hedgeline between the 4th basket and 5th tee, somewhere near where the old 5th tee was?
Mesmerically,

Michael.

The main problem with that is the scope for confusion for folks who don't necessarily know the course, wondering what hole that basket over there is for...

Typically, folks practice in the 15th basket, as it's on the way into the course. The course usage isn't so high that you'll be in the way of people trying to play most of the time

All good thoughts!

I suppose if the course becomes more heavily used then a practice basket would be a handy thing to have, but if it's not that busy at the moment, I'm sure 15th will do fine.

As for confusion, I think there are ways of marking the practice basket (different coloured plastic band around the top, a "hole number" that indicates it's for practice), but the idea is probably something we can consider when the sport is more popular over here.

And besides, I have plenty more other ideas I'd like to help with if possible! Mwah ha haaaa!
Mesmerically,

Michael.
