Hi everyone
i am a disc golf noob from eastbourne. me and a friend have just started playing and have a driver, mid range and putter each. we have made a course in one of our local parks but really want to play a course with baskets. we are thinking about heading up to croydon maybe next week for a round or 2.
what is the par of your course? i can't seem to find that info on the site (though i may just be being dumb!)
roughly how long does it take to play a round on?

thanks for your help and hope to see you on the course one day

Hi Neil

Saw your post on the BDGA forum too, welcome!

Par for the course is 55, there are 17 Par 3s and one Par 4 (Hole 6)

I might be heading down on Tuesday evening, if you want me to show around

Cheers

Bruce

adding to the greetings... we normally have a club night on Wednesday at 1800. you would be welcome to join in then on any of our Sunday morning rounds. Alternatively post when you're available and maybe draw a few players for then.

look forward to seeing you soon home and away... whats your eastbourne course like

probably won't make it over until next week now. probably tuesday.

our course is pretty good (i think, difficult to tell given haven't played any others!) bins and small trees make do as baskets. some difficult short - medium holes and a couple of long ones. we are refining it a bit. played today and scrapped 2 holes and made 2 new ones.

My goodness, that's some quite aggressive scoring

Hope those are really short holes. That'd actually be great since in an effort to reduce luggage I've only brought my mid-range Shark and Aviar putter.

...And how does a course with no baskets work?

Hi sheep dog. It is fairly aggresive scoring but also a fairly short course. the course record is 7 under but thats just silly, my PB is 7 over. good (not stupidly good) players tend to be 2-4 over par once they have learned the course

Targeted courses (no baskets) tend to be played to trees and a touch is all thats needed - the waist to shoulder rule is often enorced. IE the touch must be on the main trunk between waist and shoulder hight. Its what started CDGC - we played to trees in Lloyd park and wandle park for 3 years before finaly getting the baskets in!

We don't have the distances... one of those jobs still to do!

As the course is designed for beginners and the space we have is fairly limited we only have 1 par 4. Experienced players use rocs and buzzs for a lot of drives but still find a few holes where a big drive comes in handy.

Hope this helps

hello again.
so still haven't managed to get round to heading up for a round yet but am hoping to maybe pop up during half term holiday (the joy of teaching!). Anyone likely to be around during the day in that week (18th - 22nd)?

This is something that I can add to the Google Map some time in the future.
